Do you like to explore and discover new slopes everyday on your ski holiday?
If so, the Grand Massif is the place for you.

One of the largest ski areas in France

The Grand Massif is one of France's largest ski areas, encompassing the five villages, Samoens, Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Sixt, which are all linked by ski lifts. There are a huge variety of slopes for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with enough terrain to keep beginners and experts happy. The entire area covers more than 250km of piste, and provides a tremendous variety of on piste runs, off piste and between piste skiing, scenery and height, providing good skiing in all types of weather and skiing conditions.

Skiing or snowboarding Samoens to Flaine

Set off from Samoens and head to Flaine for a day, it takes only 40 minutes to ski there. Flaine is blessed with one of the best snow records in the French Alps. Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, prefer freeride, freestyle or carving, you’ll enjoy your favourite snowsport in a magnificent setting ...There are outstanding off-piste possibilities and the 3 'Jamparks' offer snowboarders some of the best conditions in Europe.

14km piste to adventure on your skis or snowboard...

Why not go on an adventure for a day.....and ski from the top of Flaine (2480m) down to Sixt at 800m on the classic picturesque 14 km Cascades piste. This piste goes across high mountain, down through the forests and past the cascade waterfalls to Sixt. In good weather and snow conditions it is a special day trip for those that enjoy the scenery and tranquillity of the mountains.

One can reach Cascades via the blue piste off the top of Flaine, but there is some poling to do - be warned! Another treat from Cascades is the restaurant at the Gers lake, a popular place to sit, enjoy a meal and admire the scenery.

More skiing in the village of Sixt

The Cascades piste takes you into Sixt where a bus meets skiers to take them back to the ski lift in Samoëns. If you have time, don't forget to try out the ski area in Sixt, as there are some quiet and surprisingly interesting pistes in Sixt.

Summertime in the Grand Massif

Summertime in the Grand Massif is magical, with so many mountain paths to choose from to stroll, hike, or ride your bike on. Flaine has a great golf course where you can swing your clubs at altitude. Discover more about the summer activities in the area
